Savoring every Christmas

We have been coming to The Children's Museum of Indianapolis every year for the holidays since we moved here in 1994. My oldest son was one year old then. This may be his last opportunity for awhile to go as he is enlisting in the Air Force. I will be sad to see him leave, but I am excited for him and proud of him as well. He just became a dad this year himself and we will be bringing his son to the museum this year. I just really want to savor this time spent with them. I also have a 12 year old son who loves coming to the museum. In 2010, I was diagnosed with cancer. I had 3 major surgeries in 3 months and then did chemotherapy for 6 months and radiation. It was a tough year, but it was worth the battle as I've had 2 clean scans since then. Last Christmas my brother came to visit and I brought his family to the Children's Museum on Christmas Eve. We are very thankful that you open up for free that day. My brother has been unemployed for over a year now and normally would not be able to afford to go. We are very fortunate for all that we have. The Children's Museum has been a big part in our lives and we have great memories. I am not done with making those memories and I am savoring every one of them.
