1: Target Free Family Nights
The museum will be open on New Year's Day until 8 p.m. as part of Target Free Family Night. Sponsored generously by Target, the first Thursday of each month the museum opens free of charge from 4 – 8 p.m.
19: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, A Celebration of Unity
In celebration of the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., The Children's Museum will offer a free admission day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celebrate the life, dream and legacy of the late Dr. King.
31 – May 31: LEGO® Castle Adventure Opening Day
Builders of all ages are invited to explore, build and play in LEGO® Castle Adventure! In this exhibit, kids and their families are transported to a LEGO kingdom where they can become master castle builders, using one of the greatest building materials of all time – LEGO bricks.

Month Long: Black History Month Celebrations
In recognition of Black History Month, throughout the month of February The Children's Museum will showcase the achievements of African Americans with a variety of entertaining and educational activities for the entire family.

26: El Día de los Niños
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis will present a free admission day from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in celebration of "El Día de los Niños" – The Day of the Children. Having long realized the importance of youth to our future, the museum has created programs that celebrate Hispanic and Latino culture and all children.

27: Take Me There: Egypt Opening Day
We know Egypt for its fascinating and intriguing history. In this exhibit, visitors will see and appreciate the vibrant life of children and families in modern day Egypt. Visit an Egyptian home, stroll through the marketplace and take part in one of our new cultural immersion experiences to gain an in-depth understanding of today's Egyptian traditions and celebrations.
27 – Oct. 31: Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs Opening Day
Over 130 treasures from the tomb of the King Tut and other important rulers from 2,000 years of ancient Egyptian history will be on exhibit at The Children's Museum. Besides artifacts related to Tutanhamun, the exhibit will focus on the splendor of the Egyptian pharaohs, their function in the earthly and divine worlds, and what kingship meant to the Egyptian people.
The exhibition is organized by National Geographic, Arts and Exhibitions International and AEG Exhibitions, with cooperation from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities. Northern Trust is the presenting sponsor of the tour, and American Airlines is the official airline.

46th Annual Children's Museum Guild's Haunted House
The Children's Museum Guild sponsors this delightfully haunting experience filled with friendliness, fright and fun! Museum admission is not required, but a separate fee is charged.

The museum will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving Day.
27 – Jan. 2010: Jolly Days Winter Wonderland
Enjoy traditional holiday favorites at The Children's Museum, such as the Yule Slide and visits with Santa. This fantastic winter wonderland is always a family favorite for kids of all ages.
December
