Puzzling Dinosaurs
Reserve your spot online now and you will be contacted within 24 hours to complete your registration.

As you read through these station descriptions, please keep in mind that this program has been designed for families to learn and interact together.

Cast Creations
Did you know that it is rare to find 100% of a fossilized dinosaur skeleton? Paleontologists use their best scientific research to complete these enormous puzzles. Make a cast from a Tyrannosaurus rex tooth just like dinosaur experts might.

The Art of Louie
Did you know that paleo art is a collaboration between scientific research and artistic design? Take a closer look at Baby Louie, sketch the baby dinosaur fossil in his egg and analyze and draw what Louie might have looked like as a full grown dinosaur.

Fossil Fever
Get your hands on real dinosaur fossils! Check out real fossils from a Maiasaura dinosaur and compare them to bones in your body. What are the similarities and differences?

Tooling with Tools
What tools do paleontologists use to excavate precious dinosaur fossils? Try some out in our dig experience. Make sure to suit up with your goggles and digging equipment before you chisel away at this miniature dig experience.

Prehistoric Puzzles
Reassembling the fossilized remains of a dinosaur is a lot like putting together a giant delicate puzzle. Put your hands to work and help us piece together our puzzles from the past. What will it be—a Tyrannosaurus rex, Hypacrosaurus, Gorgosaurus or Triceratops? Only time and teamwork will tell!

Chocolate Chip Discovery
We provide a snack—you provide the excitement to try it! Showing families the delicate process of excavating real dinosaur fossils can be a difficult task, especially if you don't have fossils lying around. Families try to excavate a chocolate chip from a cookie with only a toothpick and begin to appreciate the detailed work of a paleontologist.

Investigation and Recreation
Explore the prehistoric era through books. Enjoy reading research and actual accounts of excavating dinosaur fossils, venture into prehistoric life, or simply browse through dinosaur story books. Research dinosaur behaviors then create dramatic play to bring these behaviors to life.

Presentation:
Dracorex Hogwartsia and More!

Join us at 7 p.m. and learn about Dracorex Hogwartsia and how he came to be at The Children's Museum. Enjoy an interactive presentation where you will get to handle casts of the original skull that was pieced together in our Paleo Prep Lab and learn how the skull went from a scientific skull to an inflated skull!
