Spring into Adventure at
The Children's Museum

Is your family ready for adventure this spring? Then gather together, don your fedoras, and come to The Children's Museum of Indianapolis! From the Ides of March through Mother's Day and beyond, The Children's Museum is the place to be for exciting new experiences, and fun family learning.

The museum's springtime exploits begin March 13, when our "Slide into Adventure" arrives. The ever-popular Yule Slide—transformed into a moss-and-vine-covered ride reminiscent of your favorite explorer movie—is back to provide thrilling Spring Break fun for all adventure-seekers.

The appearance of our Slide into Adventure also heralds a series of exciting announcements by the museum. Three large and mysterious crates—each holding a special treasure from somewhere long ago and far away—will greet our visitors. Can you guess what they may hold? Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled! Beginning Monday, March 15, we will open one of these crates each week, revealing aweinspiring archeological treasures from around the world, as we announce the details of a new, world-class, permanent exhibit that will open in 2011.

Inside the museum's galleries, you'll fi nd many more adventures. In Barbie™: The Fashion Experience, explore 50 years of fashion inspired by the world's most popular doll, Barbie™. The unique intergenerational appeal of the Barbie® doll has parents and grandparents sharing their childhood memories, and children can explore fashion design, construction, and runway production!

In Special Exhibit 1, Bob the Builder™—Project: Build It, which has been touring museums around the country since its 2006 premiere in Indianapolis, pays a return visit to The Children's Museum. Friendly, fun-loving Bob and his Can Do Crew are here to delight a new generation of preschoolers, teaching them teamwork and positive thinking—and through his mantra "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle"—environmental stewardship as well.

Of course, we recognize that at times the museum becomes crowded, which is why we set aside First Saturday Member Mornings just for you. From 9 to 10 a.m. on the fi rst Saturday of each month, enjoy members-only access to the Slide into Adventure, climb the Rock Wall, ride the Carousel, see Barbie™: The Fashion Experience and Bob the Builder™—Project: Build It, and all the museum's exhibits. And for truly intrepid families, we are piloting a new program—Overnight Adventure—offering you a special night of museum exploration and fun.
