The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is proud to announce that Anthony Bridgeman received Indy’s Best and Brightest award from Junior Achievement in the Education and Nonprofit category.
As Director of Community Initiatives at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Bridgeman is instrumental in the development and implementation of the Children’s Museum’s outreach programs which include: Neighborhood Club, Access Pass,, and the Foster Family Membership Program. Bridgeman also supports the Museum’s neighborhood revitalization initiatives which include its role as the convener of the Mid-North Quality of Life Plan, and as an arbiter for housing development in the area—most recently the future redevelopment of the site of the former Winona Hospital into quality affordable rental housing units.
“We are extremely proud of Anthony and all he has done to improve our neighborhoods along with the contributions he has made to create richer and deeper experiences for the children and families who visit us at the museum,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “Anthony is a pleasure to work with and is a great asset to our team. He works tirelessly on behalf of the children, families and neighborhoods that are vital interests of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.”
Anthony is also very active on a volunteer basis in the community during his ‘free’ time. He also serves on the board of the City of Indianapolis Department of Code Enforcement. He serves as the chair of the Licensing Review Committee. He serves on the board of Midtown Indianapolis, Inc. and is a member of 100 Black Men of Indianapolis. He is a past board member of Partners in Housing Development Corp, Family Development Services (A Head Start Agency), and Community Alliance for the Far Eastside.
Anthony is a graduate of the Lacy Leadership Association’s LEAD program, and is a member of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ Emerging Leaders Program.
