Leapin’ Lizards! Last Chance to See Geckos, Vote for Superheroes, And Race Hot Wheels at The World’s Largest Children’s Museum

With only a few days left to vote, the time has come to join thousands who have cast their ballots onsite and online to determine which superpowers should hold super status in The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ hero-to-hero and villain match ups. It’s down to the wire in a close race between cape crusader Batman® and sharp-clawed Wolverine.  Sunday, May 5th is the final opportunity to see Superheroes: A SuperPOWered Spring Break and to vote for the prevailing superpower.

An “egg citing” spring is quickly drawing to close in our GECKOS exhibit.  Our little babies  have grown up so fast. Since the exhibit opened in February, a surprising 22 precious offspring popped their little heads out of their shells. Wednesday, May 15th will be the last time to see the 17 different species of Geckos.  The reptile parents are eager to get back home to Peeling Productions at Clyde Peeling's Reptiland to show off their babies to other reptile friends and family.

Baby GeckosFinally, following the roar of the Indianapolis 500, the roar of Hot Wheels For Real ™ will also fall silent following a full year of revved up fun in the ever-changing museum. The exhibit, which is popular with both children and adults, was extended by six months to May 27, 2013.  It’s filled with rarely seen collectable Hot Wheels and life-size versions of the iconic cars.

“These three dynamic, interactive exhibits provided intergenerational opportunities for families to spend time together, sharing old memories and creating new ones while exploring temporary exhibits that help keep our museum fresh and always changing,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.  “The exhibits were so popular in fact, that we broke several spring break attendance records.”

Now stay tuned for what’s to come.  Exciting announcements of new galleries and exhibits will be announced soon.
