- Jupiter along with Saturn, Mars, Venus, and Mercury are all planets bright enough to be seen with the naked eye in the night sky, therefore, no one knows who was the first to discover its existence.
- Jupiter is by far the largest planet in our Solar System. It would take 1,000 Earths to fill the volume of Jupiter!
- As of 2010, the United States has sent six space probes to Jupiter: Pioneer 10, Pioneer-Saturn, Voyager 1, Voyager 2, Ulysses, and Galileo.
- Jupiter has one of the most vicious storms in the Solar System swirling just below its equator; the Great Red Spot. It is so large that at its widest, it is three times the diameter of Earth.
