100 Toys (and Their Stories) that Define Our Childhood

By Lori Phillips, Digital Marketing Content Coordinator

Did you love rainy afternoons playing Clue® or MONOPOLY®?

Did you stand in line to buy Beanie Babies®, Tickle Me Elmo or a Cabbage Patch Kid®?

These, and many others, are the toys that defined our childhood.  And now you have a chance to vote for your favorites and share your memories about what makes these toys so special!

Our curators have scoured our collection for 100 iconic toys that have defined American childhood over the past century. For five weeks, we will be featuring twenty toys at a time until all of our 100 toys have had a chance to be highlighted.

But here comes the really exciting part...

The Top 20 toys (and their stories) will be on display in a special case in the museum for all to see! Will your favorite toy (and your story) make the cut?

It's up to you to decide what toys will be on display.  From now until August 17, vote, share your stories, and come back to check out the leaderboard. On Monday, August 20 we will announce our Top 20 winners.

Then, from August 20 until the case is unveiled in September, come back to rank the Top 20. Which toys will win the gold, silver, and bronze?

So what are you waiting for? Get your family and get voting at childrensmuseum.org/100toys!
