Do you want to learn from the best?

By Karla McLaughlin, Intern Program Manager

In a few weeks, we will close the application process for college students interested in interning with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.  But, before we do let me ask, "Have you thought about doing an internship with the Museum?"

Why the Museum?  We are the world’s largest and best children’s museum, and shouldn’t you learn from the best?

Depending on your major, we probably have a place for you.  We offer over 25 different internship positions in which we accept a variety of majors.  If you are looking to see how you would apply your major in a professional setting give us a look.  Selected interns at the Museum are assigned to work with a mentor—trained staff members who work with and beside you to help you develop professionally and personally.  There is also a series of workshops that are offered to further develop your skills.  We also offer the opportunity to meet with the President and CEO of the Museum!

How do you become an intern?  February 28 is the deadline to apply for a summer internship.  Visit our website and complete the application (it will probably take you 10 minutes to complete). Then, paste your resume and submit it to us.  Mentors will review the applications and select the interns they would like to interview.  By the end of March, candidates will know if they have an internship with The Children’s Museum.

What will you do?  Work on projects, have fun, learn about possible careers, and grow professionally and personally.

Where else can you ride on a carousel, board a train, take a plane ride to Egypt, be in a thunderstorm (and not get wet), visit space, walk the runway and, cry over injustices in one day during your internship?!

To learn from the best, spend the 10 minutes!
