I am a grandmother of 5. I remember coming to the Indianapolis Children's Museum as a child with my school class. It was nothing like what it is today, however, I do remember that same Polar Bear being there 50 some years ago. As a mother, my 2 sons loved the museum in the current location. We never got out of the 5th floor science inventions. They would spend many hours there and I'm not sure they ever knew what else the museum had to offer. I would have to pry them away to go home. Now as a grandmother, the third generation of our family loves the museum with such passion! This group knows the museum forwards and backwards. We come early in the morning and stay and join the parade at closing. They love everything-- from the dinosaurs on the bottom level to the water works and Rube Goldberg contraption on the top and EVERY SINGLE floor in between. They love the performances in the theatre and the "sky shows" and the learning opportunities you provide. My 6 year old grandson just wrote me a letter last week and mailed it to me with a drawing of us at the museum and asked when we are going again. We have not as yet been to the museum during the holidays, so we are looking forward to it very much this year. Thank you for all you do to make this museum a great learning experience for my grandchildren, for my students (that I bring every year), and for all the children of Indianapolis and around the world. We are truly privileged to have this landmark in our city.
