As we enter our next 100 years, we do so with a renewed purpose and vision for meeting the ever-evolving needs of children and adults.

As we celebrate our first 100 years, we are excited to look toward the next century of innovation and exploration.

The future of the children's museum is filled with possibilities, from new magical and inclusive learning experiences to fostering even greater connections within our community. Our commitment to inspiring young minds by igniting joy, wonder, and curiosity will continue to evolve, ensuring that the museum remains a vibrant and essential space for generations to come.

On a Roll!

A youth philanthropy effort encouraging kids to give back.

The museum started when founder Mary Stewart Carey sent a letter to Indianapolis teachers asking kids to help start the museum's collection. A century later, we've refreshed a longstanding museum treasure--the Roll-a-Coin--so kids can continue to support the place they love. The simple act of donating coins kick-starts a commitment to giving back that can help instill a sense of ownership and increase feelings of compassion and gratitude. It teaches responsibility and respect and shows kids that it's important to support causes they care about.
