Many young parents today grew up enjoying the movies about Harry Potter and finding a love for reading through the series of young adult novels. This screen-used letter with envelope, signed by Professor McGonagall, was one of hundreds delivered by owls and Hagrid to Harry and other students in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. When Harry finally was able to read the letter, he realized that his strange powers have a place among others like him attending the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Children’s Museum security guard and mother Anne Benson developed an interest in Harry Potter before she became a mother.

“The first Harry Potter books in the series were released before my children were born. I remember seeing them in a bookstore and thought that they may be books I would want to read with my children one day, so I bought the first three books and set them on my bookshelf for a few years. It was on some of those early nights as a new mom when I wasn’t sleeping that I finally pulled the first book off the shelf and was officially introduced to Harry Potter. From that moment on, I was hooked!”
