Opening Doors: How Philanthropy Supports Free Admission Days at The Children’s Museum
We believe that every child and families should have access to transformative learning experiences—regardless of financial circumstances. It's at the core
of our mission and a driving vorce behind everything we do here because
we believe the powerful learning experiences children encounter at The Children's Museum can inspire and empower them to reach their potential in the world. That’s why we offer five free admission days each year, made possible through the generosity of philanthropic support. These special days welcome thousands of guests from across Indiana, ensuring that all families can explore, discover, and create lifelong memories at no cost.

Throughout 2025, we will offer these free admission days with enriching programming designed to celebrate history, culture, and community:
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January)
- Presidents Day (February)
- Juneteenth Jamboree (June)
- Fiesta de la Familia (September)
- Christmas Eve (December)
Free days in 2025
Our first free day of the year took place on
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, when we welcomed more than 7,000 guests. Visitors enjoyed powerful performances by the Griot Drum Ensemble, storytelling by Portia Sholar Jackson, and inspiring workshops led by Visiting Artist Rebecca Robinson.

On
Presidents Day, we hosted 6,000 guests who participated in hands-on activities about presidential history, Abraham Lincoln’s early years in Indiana, and the importance of civic engagement and voting.
Philanthropy Opens Doors
These experiences are made possible through the generosity of donors and sponsors who believe in the power of education. Thanks to their support, thousands of children and families can explore the museum’s exhibits, engage in cultural celebrations, and spark their curiosity—without barriers.
You Can Help Impact Our Community

Every gift—no matter the size—helps open doors for families who might not otherwise have the opportunity to visit. Our free admission days would not happen without the support of people like you!
