Fashionistas, your time has come to explore your style, own it, and share it with others through What’s Your Style? Express Yourself, a new digital experience with onsite components at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, opening Saturday, January 17, 2015.
Boy or girl, young or old, fashion reveals a lot about who we are. From January 17-September 7, 2015, children and families will be inspired by famous and everyday fashions on display from one of the coolest “closets” around - The Children’s Museum’s textile collection. See inspired designs by Richman Brothers, Gianni Versace, and others, as well as iconic accessories.
The fun abounds when you share your own style through this digital engagement project. Each day in February, be inspired by a new style from the museum’s textile collection and then post photos from your own wardrobe to Instagram. The #OwnThatStyle Challenge should be a fun way for the whole family to share memories and their own current style!” Photo submissions from around the world will be showcased within the museum experience and at www.childrensmuseum.org/style.
Extend the fashion finds and learning at home! Dress a digital mannequin by mixing and matching pieces from the museum’s collection. Play the What’s Your Style iPad app in the museum or download the app to play anytime, anywhere.
Fashions may be fleeting, but style is something you own - it’s unique and personal. Discover your style and share it with the world!
