2015 started off with another celebration at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. We are proud to announce that visitors took 90,000 fast and furious rides down our Yule Slide this holiday season helping the museum reach its #MySlideCounts campaign goal. To ensure that all children and families, regardless of income, can experience family learning and share memories at the museum, we created Yule Slide Challenge. We asked corporate donors and individual sponsors for their support and they agreed to match donations if we reached a total of 90,000 rides. The challenge was created to help underwrite free admission days.
On January 2nd, three-year-old Adelaide Reed of Indianapolis took the 90,000th ride down the Yule Slide with her dad Clint, helping the museum to reach its important goal. Adelaide received a confetti-filled celebration at the bottom of the Yule Slide, along with a gift basket from The Children’s Museum.
“The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is the biggest and the best in the world because our donors, partners, members and visitors support us in truly awe-inspiring ways. Through the #MySlideCounts campaign, they have once again shown their commitment to keeping our award- winning museum a world-class venue for families and children and making it accessible to everyone,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum. “We are exceedingly grateful.”
