Read Across America Day is the National Education Association’s (NEA) literacy program to build a nation of readers. This year’s theme is “Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers.” More than 45 million readers nationwide will participate in NEA’s Read Across America Day, which celebrates Dr. Seuss’s birthday and the joys of reading. Reading resources for educators, parents and kids can be found at nea.org/readacross.

This event is the season tipoff for the Read Like a Pro program. ISTA and the Indiana Fever are partnering for Read Like a Pro during the 2018 WNBA season. Read Like a Pro is the premiere community service project of the Indiana Fever. The childhood literacy program hosts fun reading events to encourage a love of reading and learning in kids.

Read Like a Pro events will be scheduled at schools, community clubs and Fever games beginning in May.
