It was a place to escape and be a kid. I joined the Navy and had my daughter in the summer of 2009 in Virginia. My fiance, her father, still lived here in Indiana, which made it very hard with the father/daughter and Mommy/Daddy bonding time. I found myself driving home at least once a month to have that family alone time I know we were all longing for. In late summer of 2010, my contract was up with the military and we were allowed to FINALLY start our family a year late. It has been a year since we have moved back to Indiana, and we couldn't be more happy. The first trip we took as a family was to The Children's Museum. My fiance had never been, and I felt like a kid in a candy store. I couldn't wait to show him all the fun exciting things to do for children and parents. I could tell Ashlyn and Jared's eyes lit up with happiness,...we were on a family vacation together. We became members and now visit at least once a month. We have watched Ashlyn grow through the museum. Every time we return, she is able to explore more of the museum she was unable to before, due to her age. Never has there been a bad memory or experience here at the museum. It still amazes me how much fun I continuously have at the museum. Everytime we come, something new is always around the corner for children and parents to enjoy.
