As a child, I loved visiting the Children's Museum of Indianapolis at Christmas time. I stood in awe at the glimmering lights and decorations above me as I entered the lobby, a great big grin on my face. Now, as a mom, I get to share the joy of this place with my children, Elijah and Zeus. The boys love to race each other and me down the Yule slide. Last year we loved the penguins exhibit. The boys especially loved sliding on their bellies like penguins. Most of all, though, the boys fell in love with Santa's workshop and the big man himself. The boys were so proud of the pictures with the "real" Santa. After that, no shopping mall Santa will do. The boys adore the Children's Museum year round but it has become our family tradition to visit in winter, which adds loads of fun to our Holiday Season. The boys peek out the car window as we get closer to the museum. When they see the Dinosphere, Zeus yells "dinosaur house" and when they see the Santa hats on the giant dinos outside, they both yell "Christmas!!!! The Slide!!!!"' And as we enter the museum and hear the Christmas music, the boys are looking up in awe as I did as a child, with great big wonderful smiles!
