For Christmas two years ago, and the once since, she has bought my family of four (2 kids ages 7yrs and 4yrs) a family membership to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
My husband has taken our two children to the Museum at least once a month EVERY month. He has taken them the last two years for Santa's Arrival, and he's taken them the last two years for Halloween. They've been to see Legos, Dora, Dinasours, and Egypt. They LOVE the Children's Museum more than movies, skating, or sledding.
I think Christmas is the favorite of my children. They LOVE the Yule Slide! THAT is the absolute favorite.
This year will be special to them because they have been begging me to come every year. I'm not comfortable in large crowds, and have some social anxiety so I've not come to the museum with the family. My children told me that as much as they love the museum, they would love it more if their mommy would come. So this year, I'm surprising them by coming with them the day that Santa arrives.
My favorite story of them going to the museum is when Santa arrived last year. My son was at the bottom of the slide, and he was OVER JOYED at the fact that when Santa came down the slide, HE LANDED IN MY SON'S LAP! I heard this story over and over again for two months!
