Ingredients

  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Spaghetti noodles
  • Frozen meatballs
  • Mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • Black olives
  • French or Italian bread
  • Olive oil

Process

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C)
  2. Make the Mummy Bread base
    1. Take the French or Italian bread and slice it in half lengthways. This will serve as the mummy’s body.
    2. Layer the slices of mozzarella cheese on top of one half of the bread, crisscrossing them to assemble mummy bandage.
    3. Place the mozzarella-covered bread on a baking sheet and bake it in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese starts to melt and slightly brown.
  3. Make the Eyeball Spaghetti
    1. Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
    2. In a saucepan, heat the spaghetti sauce and frozen meatballs together until the meatballs are fully cooked and heated through.
    3. Add the cooked spaghetti noodles to the sauce and mix well, ensuring the noodles are coated evenly.
  4. Assemble the Mummy Eyeball Pasta
    1. Take the mozzarella-covered bread (the mummy base) and place it on a serving platter or large plate.
    2. Shape the prepared spaghetti and meatballs into a rough oval mound and place it on top of the mummy base. This will be the mummy’s head and body.
    3. Create “eyeballs” by cutting circular shapes from slices of mozzarella or provolone cheese. Place them strategically on top of the spaghetti mound.
    4. Place sliced black olives in the center of each cheese circle to complete the eyeball effect.
