Museum at Home: Get Active with a Scavenger Hunt Picture Relay

What happens to our brains after exercise? Get active with Riley Children's Health Sports Legends Experience® coach Caleb and his junior assistants to find out!

Warm up: UNO Fitness

For this activity you will need: 

  • Deck of UNO cards or a regular deck of cards

How to play:

  1. Make sure you have a good space where you can do exercises in a safe space.
  2. Assign a color to each activity:
    1. Jumping Jacks
    2. Air squats
    3. Mario jumps
    4. Mountain climber
  3. Participants line up on a starting line and draw a card.
  4. The card's color tells you what exercise to do. The number tells you how many of that exercise to do.
  5. The player who collects the most cards after 60 seconds wins.

Game Activity: Scavenger Hunt Picture Relay

For this game you will need:

  • Your phone camera
  • Basket
  • 4-5 small objects like a stuffed animal or a ball
  • take pictures of 4-5 objects you have placed around your house/playspace

How to play:

  1. When you say go, family members come to you to look at a picture. These objects should be easy to find in your house. 
  2. They race off to find the object in the picture.
  3. Players bring the object back and place it in the basket in front of you.
  4. Players have to preform a fitness activity before getting their next photo.
