Which is why at that age, my oldest daughter did NOT want to visit Dinosphere at all! Our family did not yet have a membership to The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, and therefore were not yet frequent visitors, so we didn't want to miss any of the museum on that visit. We decided to try the Dinosphere overlook area, which would hopefully be less scary for our daughter. An observant and helpful staff member noticed that she was reluctant and gently encouraged our daughter to move on into the observation area, all the while telling her about her "secret"- which was how the sound effects in Dinosphere were actually recordings of animals like those we often saw at the zoo! Knowing this "secret" gave her the courage to check out those noisy dinosaurs, even working up to exploring the main level of the exhibit. Years later, our daughter still remembers when the museum staff member shared her secret and enabled her to enjoy all of the museum.
