The museum proudly recognizes Old National Bank as the presenting sponsor of the Mid-North Promise Program. Old National Bank’s sponsorship is paramount in providing Indianapolis families of the Mid-North neighborhoods with high-quality educational programs and scholarships for young and old.
The Mid-North Promise Program focuses on six key neighborhoods surrounding the museum in which the residents struggle with poverty’s lifelong detrimental effects. Together we can revitalize these neighborhoods through educational assistance and scholarship programs for these underserved families.
2016 has been a great year for the Mid-North Promise Program. Through a memorandum of understanding with 28 key partners, we’ve seen these successes:
30 Mid-North families completed the Family Navigator intake process.
Participating families consistently indicate the program content was informative and increased their understanding of family learning goals with an average survey score of 4.4 out of 5.
80% of families who completed the intake process have participated in additional workshop activities, up from our goal of 75%.
The museum has enrolled 20 students in our Afterschool Explorers program, achieving our goal of continuing this valuable program following pilot periods in 2014 and 2015.
Additionally, the Old National Bank Mid-North Promise Program scholarship fund is giving new life to students with post-secondary education. Two youths are attending Ball State University, and one adult is completing a certification which will lead to a higher-paying job. Lastly, five preschool students will receive scholarships to attend the museum’s preschool next year.
We’re proud to honor the successes of our neighbors through your generosity and to keep looking ahead. Right now, the museum’s greatest need is to continue funding the $3M Old National Bank Mid-North Promise Fund. Your gift to this fund gives Indianapolis children and families a fighting chance against poverty through educational scholarships. Won’t you consider joining us? Together we can change the face of our city and those who call it home.
