Open your child’s world at The Children’s Museum Preschool

Mornings at The Children’s Museum are special. The building echoes with the patter of tiny feet as laughter and giggles fill the empty galleries. It’s 9 a.m. and the museum is closed to the public, but it is alive with excitement. A group of preschool students is ready to have an exhibit all to themselves. It’s time to explore!

The children touch objects. They talk with experts. The encounter sparks their curiosity as they spend the rest of the day discussing what they discovered.

You never had an opportunity like this when you were growing up.

The world’s largest preschool classroom.

It shouldn’t be any surprise that the world’s largest preschool classroom can be found right here at The Children’s Museum! The opportunity to learn and play in the world’s largest preschool classroom isn’t the only thing that makes The Children's Museum Preschool unique. It’s a one-of-a-kind learning experience that cultivates curiosity and engages children in science, art, and the humanities.

Here’s what makes The Children’s Museum Preschool stand out above the rest.

  • Licensed early childhood educators guide each child’s interest by asking questions and encouraging discussions.
  • Exclusive museum time is built into every class so children can experience our exhibits each day before the museum opens to the public.
  • Object-based learning with our vast collection of objects and artifacts. We use them in the classrooms to build connections with the museum.
  • Family Learning Days on regularly-scheduled Saturday mornings provide shared learning experiences in the classroom and throughout the museum.

Hands on. Worlds open.

Every school day is full of new learning discoveries and purposeful play! Inspired by the philosophies of Reggio Emilia and Maria Montessori, The Children’s Museum Preschool collaborates with children, families, and museum colleagues to support the natural curiosity and potential for young learners.

Children are naturally curious. They ask questions. They investigate. As children begin to explore topics that interest them, they’ll think critically and increase their understanding of the world around them.
