So, if you haven’t figured out by now, The Children’s Museum is all about families. We are working to develop experiences for all kinds of families. In fact, one of the biggest questions we get is “what do you mean by family?” Our definition of family is pretty simple, and I’ll guarantee that every kind of family fits. At The Children’s Museum a family is an on-going relationship between at least one adult and one child. Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, life-long friends of the family, mentors, godparents, and more all count as part of that unique pairing of adult and child. As far as the combinations of what that can look like, we’ll leave that up to you.
At the museum, families can take advantage spending time with each other in interesting, fun, and satisfying experiences. Learning happens in all kind of ways and in all kinds of places. The museum is a special place where you and your family can build new skills, develop interests, and discover new perspectives. The best part of this is, that the adults don’t have to be the experts! Got a dinosaur lover in the family? Let them take the lead. Can’t wait to hear more of grandad’s stories about his latest trip to Egypt? He can show you what it is like! This is a kind of learning that is playful and fun for everyone. It gives you the chance to learn in your own way, let your children make choices, and create special memories of your visit.
So what does your family look like at the museum? Post a picture on our Facebook page and share your family learning moment.
