I remember watching my son's eyes light up the first year he saw the giant Yule Slide. A little boy of nearly two, he was often a bit timid, but that Yule Slide brought out a bit of his courage. We raced down the first year several times, each moment filled with squeals and giggles. The following year I was pregnant with his sister. He mentioned to her (in my belly) that he hoped she liked her first ride down the slide! Each year we come to the museum several times and they comment about wishing it was up all year long. We spend the day at the Children's Museum, then stop to enjoy a winter treat on the way home. Each year I'm both sad and excited to see the slide go up. My children now race each other without my help. I love to record their race and be the "judge", but I have seen them growing in their independence each year we go back.
No one is too old to enjoy the merriment you bring to the museum in the holidays! We have pictures of our parents smiling like six year olds at the wonderful things that bring the holidays to life inside the museum. From the dinosaurs decorated outside, to the attendants in elf ears, the magic of Christmas lives on for the children of Indianapolis!
