Since then we have had to learn to be parents all over again, his youngest in his 30's mine in mid 20's. Boy were we in for a surprise. Starting over with a 1-1/2 and a 4 year old at our age was a difficult start. We started off by getting everything two little girls would need: beds, dresser, clothes the easy stuff. Then we had to learn what do little kids like to do, ahh yes, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis! We got our first family membership.
Since then we have walked where dinosaurs walk, learned how to dig for fossils, soared through the stars with Big Bird, dressed up like a Barbie, visited Egypt, met Dora and Diego. We have learned about Treasures of the Earth we did not know were there. We have seen an explosion of glass of all sorts of colors and shapes. We have taken a train ride to the past and back to the present. I took my first Carousel ride, served ice cream, climbed a tree. We have met a Transforming car named BumbleBee. We have seen costumes of Television and Film which has connected the girls to the love of Star Wars, now when we joke and say Luke I am your father they do not look at us like were crazy.
We are looking forward to the holidays this year since last was getting acclimated to being Parents and yet still being Grandparents. The Children's Museum has been wonderful for us, I tell the girls I used to bring your Mom here when she was little and my Mom used to bring me here when I was little and when you have kids I hope you to will bring them here as well. You do not have to be a child to enjoy the Children's Museum. You guys do not know how happy you make two little girls when we say those words; you wanna go to the museum? Thank you so much.
