The decrorating of the house & tree (right after Thanksgiving). The start of Christmas music (we have so many favorites), Christmas shows & specials (A Christmas Story is one of our favorite) & our yearly visits to the zoo & Children's Museum of Indianapolis. Our children (Isaac & Olivia) were very young when we first went for Christmas. A co-worker's wife had her company's Christmas party there. He invited us to go with him & his family. We went not knowing what to expect. We had a meal, then we got to go around the museum. After a trip or two down the Yule slide, off to see Santa. The kids sat on Santa lap & received a stuffed animal & picture. It was an event they still remember today. After that year, we tried to go back every year & they were upset we couldn't go. One way to make sure we went every year, we started getting a membership. Because of this, we started taking not just our children but others with us, sharing our Christmas tradition. As the season approaches again, we look forward to going this year, with our children (both teenagers), their friends, our god-children, friends & relatives. In this time of tight budgets, this is one tradition we will always cherish.
