INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 12, 2024) - The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will host a free admission day to the public on Monday, February 19, 2024. Celebrating Presidents Day, The Museum will provide all day programming for children and adults to learn about the history of presidential elections, the right to vote and advocating for topics that are important to them.
Programming will take place mostly on the first floor, with additional opportunities to hear about our community partners throughout the day. Children will be able to celebrate the legacy of US Presidents at the museum and determine the importance of democracy and their part in it.
Sunburst Atrium, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Take it to the Polls - Learn about voting and how one single vote matters. Participate in voting for 1920s topics to see what others were concerned about within that election year.
Can You Vote? - What are voting rights? Understand the history of voting and how voting rights became crucial to the foundation of the United States.
Political Pinbacks - Analyze campaign pins from history and develop a campaign pin that relates to an important modern-day topic.
Community Initiatives Table - Learn how to become a part of the Old National Bank Mid-North Promise Program that offers community residents career and academic support.
Community Resource Fair – Hear about the resources made available to the community by The Indiana Citizen, The Center for Leadership Development, League of Women Voters of Indianapolis and the Mosaic Center, IU Health.
Gathering Room A, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Visit with President Abraham Lincoln - Meet a reenactor who will share Lincoln’s life story beginning with his time growing up in Indiana all the way to presidency.
Level 2 Ramp Wall, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield - Anthem works to make sure families get healthy and stay healthy. They are committed to accessible care and building healthy communities.

Level 3 The Power of Children
Changemakers, 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. - Become an everyday superhero and use your powers to make a difference!
Voices of Hope: Live Theatre Performances, 1:30 p.m. - Discover how one inspirational child served as an example of overcoming discrimination and intolerance that made a positive difference in the world today.
Originally meant to honor both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays, Presidents Day now stands as a day to honor past presidents’ legacies as leaders of the United States. Free tickets should be reserved in advance to ensure space is available. For qualified community members, there will be official on-site voting registration.
